Acceptable Use Policy

Pinout is a low-voltage DC hobby project-planning tool. This policy sets out what you may and may not use it for. Breaking it may lead to suspension or termination.

Pinout plans low-voltage DC hobby electronics only. It does not provide mains/AC wiring guidance and must not be used to plan anything intended to harm people, property, networks or the law.

01Intended use

  • Planning personal, educational and hobby low-voltage DC electronics projects.
  • Generating build plans, placeholder parts lists, illustrative sketches, debug checklists and showcase scripts for your own learning and making.

02Prohibited projects and content

  • Weapons, weapon components, or devices whose purpose is to cause physical harm.
  • Radio jammers, signal interceptors, covert surveillance or eavesdropping devices, or anything designed to defeat security or privacy.
  • Devices intended to damage, disrupt or gain unauthorised access to networks, systems or property.
  • Mains / AC wall-power wiring, modification or installation, or any high-voltage or life-safety system.
  • Lithium-cell modification, unsafe high-current battery hacks, or anything creating a serious fire or injury risk.
  • Any project that is unlawful where you live, or that infringes another party's rights.

03Your responsibilities

  • Follow local law for any project that transmits radio, flies (drones/UAS), or records people or public spaces.
  • Respect privacy and data-protection law for any camera, microphone or tracking build.
  • Verify all components and ratings against datasheets and take normal workshop safety precautions.
  • Do not enter other people's personal data or confidential information into the tool.

04Platform rules

  • Do not attempt to overload, scrape at abusive rates, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the service.
  • Do not resell, sublicense or present the output as a certified professional deliverable.
  • Do not use the service to generate content that is illegal, harmful or infringing.

05Enforcement

We may remove content, limit features, or suspend or terminate access for violations, and will cooperate with lawful requests from authorities. Report misuse to support@embeddedengineer.shop.
